- Sign in to Canva in a browser and open your account settings.
- Go to the billing and plans area.
- Select the option to cancel your subscription and follow the prompts.
- Check the end date shown and keep the confirmation email.

Pause instead of cancelling

- Choose the pause length, up to Canva’s three-month maximum.

Billed by Apple, Google or PayPal
Canva advises checking your billing email or bank statement to confirm whether the charge came from Canva, Google, Apple or PayPal, then following that provider’s steps.
- Check the charge description or your Canva billing email to identify the biller.
- For an Apple-billed plan, cancel in Apple Subscriptions; for Google Play, cancel in Google Play subscriptions.
- For PayPal, cancel the recurring payment agreement in your PayPal account as well as checking Canva’s guidance.
- Keep the confirmation — Canva notes that uninstalling the mobile app does not cancel the plan.
Before you cancel.
- Identify the biller first. Canva tells users to check the billing email or bank statement to see whether Canva, Google, Apple or PayPal took the payment.
- Check your designs for premium photos, graphics, fonts and Brand Kit elements — these are licensed with the paid plan and stop being usable in new work when it ends.
- If you own a Canva Teams or Business plan, note that cancelling affects everyone on it, and that a member leaving is not the same as the owner cancelling.
- Download or export finished designs you need in a fixed format before your access ends.
What happens next?
- You keep paid features until the end of the current billing period, then the account reverts to Canva’s free tier rather than closing.
- Canva says that if you cancel, the subscription is cancelled at the end of the current billing cycle and you are not entitled to a refund of fees already paid, except where required by law.
- Your designs stay in your account, but elements that required a paid licence can become restricted in new exports.

What happens to my designs when I cancel Canva Pro?
Your designs stay in your account and the account continues on the free tier. Premium photos, graphics, fonts and Brand Kit features that came with the paid plan stop being available, which can restrict re-editing or re-exporting designs that used them. Export what you need before the plan ends.
Can I pause my Canva plan instead of cancelling?
Yes. Canva documents pausing a plan for up to three months with no charges during the pause, after which the plan resumes automatically — Canva sends an email reminder before it restarts.
Will Canva refund the rest of my year?
Canva states that a cancelled subscription is cancelled at the end of the current billing cycle and that you are not entitled to a refund of fees already paid, except where required by law. Canva publishes a separate refunds article covering the exceptions.
Why can I not cancel Canva in my account settings?

I am on a Canva Teams plan — how does cancelling work?
The plan owner cancels the subscription for the team. An individual member leaving the team does not stop the owner being billed. Check who owns the plan before assuming your action ends the charge.
