The clearest route for a subscription bought on duolingo.com.
- Sign in to your Duolingo account in a web browser.
- Click your profile picture at the top of the home screen and choose Settings.
- Select Super Duolingo.
- Select Cancel subscription and confirm.
Duolingo says your streak and learning progress are not affected by cancelling.
In the iPhone or Android app
A subscription bought in the app is billed by Apple or Google Play, and the app hands you to the store to finish.
- In the Duolingo app, tap Manage subscription.
- Select Cancel subscription and proceed.
- Confirm the cancellation in the App Store or Google Play Store when the store’s screen appears.
- Keep the store’s confirmation — deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
Before you cancel.
- Check which store or account holds the subscription. Duolingo directs Android users to submit a support request and iOS users to follow Apple’s instructions when the in-app route does not work.
- If you are on a Family Plan, note that the plan owner controls the subscription for everyone on it.
- Decide whether you want to keep learning on the free tier — you can, and your progress stays.
What happens next?
- Duolingo says you can use Super features for the remainder of the subscription period and are no longer billed automatically after cancelling.
- Your streak, XP and course progress are unaffected; the account continues on the free version with ads and heart limits.

Do I lose my streak if I cancel Super Duolingo?

Why does the Duolingo app send me to the App Store to cancel?
Because a subscription bought inside the app is billed by Apple or Google Play. Duolingo starts the flow but the store completes the cancellation, and only the store can stop the charge.
How do I cancel a Duolingo Family Plan?
The person who bought the plan manages and cancels it. Other members can leave the plan, but leaving does not stop the owner being billed.
Can I get a refund for Super Duolingo?
Duolingo publishes a refund request process, which is separate from cancelling. For a subscription billed by Apple or Google Play, the refund request goes to that store rather than to Duolingo.
